Gender pay gap remains worse in SA's private sector, says labour law expert
Labour law expert Bridgette Mokoetle says women continue to fight to close the gender wage gap in South Africa, especially in the private sector.
Mokoetle says that employees use excuses such as lack of work experience to sideline women.
She says policies such as equal pay for equal work and laws upheld in the Employment Equity Act are not being adequately enforced.
Mokoetle argues that the government must take firm action to emancipate women in the workplace and achieve true diversity and gender equality.
