Man missing for 6 years found

Warrant officer Michael Daniels has offered his car to help the mother who thought her son had died but was recently found alive.

The two Delft police officers who offered to fetch Denzil Daniels, a 36-year-old who we went missing six years ago from eSwatini have indeed fulfilled their promise.

Daniels was found by police outside a supermarket in eSwatini, formerly known as Swaziland, busy scavenging from bins.

The officers together with Daniels mother are on route to go fetch him. She spoke to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about the developments.

I am so grateful for the help everybody has done for me

Jane Daniels, Mother

When I see him I will give him a hug and tell him that I love you and I've been praying for you.

Jane Daniels, Mother

She says Gift of the Givers gave her money to help with the journey.

Warrant officer Michael Daniels says as a father he saw it fit that he and his partner help to bring Daniels back home and reunite him with his family.

I am also a father, I have children. When I heard this woman's troubles after losing her son and her husband and now a son who went missing for six years, we decided to support and help her.

Warrant officer Michael Daniels, Delft police station

It could've been one of my children that's why I offered my own vehicle. Now we are on our way to go fetch her son and I am also excited to see this reunion.

Warrant officer Michael Daniels, Delft police station

There are still good police officers out there who are doing good things.
