Mandy Wiener interviews Western Cape government spokesperson James-Brent Styan.

Authorities in the Western Cape are on standby after the South African Weather Service issued warnings to residents to brace for gale-force winds.

“We are expecting very bad weather tomorrow, throughout the day,” said Western Cape government spokesperson James-Brent Styan on Thursday afternoon.

The City of Cape Town won’t be as badly affected as the Cape Winelands and Overberg regions, he says.
