Man due in court in connection with Shireen Essop kidnapping

A man is due in court this morning (Thursday) after being found in possession of property believed to belong to kidnap victim Shireen Essop.
32-year-old Essop went missing on 23 May and was reported missing after her car was found abandoned.
She was found alive close to two weeks later by Klipfontein Neighbourhood Watch.
A 28-year-old suspect is expected to appear on a charge of possession of stolen property in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court.
Police say further details about the case are expected to emerge in court and that the arrest of more suspects cannot be ruled out.
