Save the Cape Peninsula Baboons

8 October 2015 2:01 PM

Baboon Matters raises awareness around the plight of baboons as well as educating residents about the appreciation of baboons.

Baboon Matters, a non-profit organisation on Baboon conservation, has announced an initiative that proposes the relocation of some of the vulnerable baboon troops in the Cape Peninsula to a large place where they can roam freely.

Jenni Trethown founder of Baboon Matters spoke to CapeTalk’s John Maytham about the safety of baboon in the Cape Peninsula.

According to Trethown, they are concerned about the high death rate of adult baboons which she says puts some of the baboon troops at high risk.

She says that baboons on the Cape Town’s urban edge are under increasing pressure.
