Tech Tuesday: Gamified Covid-19 learning platform launched to educate Africa about virus

Despite widespread coverage of the spread of the Covid-19 novel coronavirus, there are
still many who do not understand the nature of the virus and how behaviour needs to
change in order to halt its spread. Refilwe Moloto speaks to Kobus Louw, MD of Digemy,
a South African-based EdTech startup which has launched a gamified, data-light elearning
platform to educate the continent on COVID-19 and the ways that behaviour
change can help slow the spread of the global pandemic.

Kidnapped Kensington boy returned safely to family

The kidnapped child from Kensington has been safely returned. According to family spokesperson Dawood Essack. Six-year-old Shahnawaz Asghar, was returned to his family last night. Essack said Asghar is "both mentally and physically fine". The Grade R pupil from Hidaaya-tul-islam primary school was forced into a VW Polo by six armed men before 08:00 on Wednesday, as he was leaving home with his father and siblings for school.
