Motorist urged to travel with caution amid protest action near N2 and R300

The City of Cape Town has advised that motorists be vigilant when travelling on the N2 Highway and R300 road due to protest action.

The City's Wayne le Roux on Wednesday said a South African Breweries (SAB) truck was set alight in the early hours of the morning on the N2 Highway near Symphony Way Bridge.

In addition demonstrators reportedly damaged houses in Khayelitsha and burnt down a Golden Arrow bus in Blikkiesdorp.

The reasons for the protest action remain unclear at this stage.
